I am Eilish LaWanda Rose!

Hi everybody I am Eilish! This is a whole revamped web site, Mommy kind of got out of the habit of updating it and my Sissy and I are going to start really nagging her about updating the sites of two of the sweetest girls ever.
A year and a half ago, My cousin Tracy, wrote me a neat story. It's really good. She took the time to write me a great story, about the letter w, which I couldn't say at the time. Now I can, but the story is still worth sharing, if only to show how much Tracy does love me and my mommy and Sissy, Daddy too. so please click here to read The Sad Little W.!
I am 6.5 years old and am in second grade in a self contained learning disabled room in an elementary school in Nevada. I am in this room because I have this special thing called Down Syndrome. I am not quite sure what it is, I'm just plain ordinary Eilish. IN fact, I have done most of the things an average 7 year old does--I go to Sunday school, I can write all my letters and numbers though I struggle with spacing and writing them correctly in between lines, I can read some three letter words and can spell a few, I can color, but I just started doing these things later in life than most. IN September of 2006, my mommy and my wonderful teacher decided that I could go to school in big girl undies since I'd been wearing them around the house all summer and had been having no accidents and staying dry at school. So I guess, or so says my mom anyway, that I am officially potty trained, which makes my whole family, my teacher, and me too, very happy!!! I am talking a lot more now too, in fact I talk so much and so often that occasionally, my mommy wishes, if just briefly, for a more quiet Eilish, like I was before I could talk. It is so neat to be able to say what I want and be understood! By the way, to download a very small file where you can hear me spelling some words, go here

I don't feel any different because of the DS, but to help my health and to stop some of the stuff that goes on inside me because of my extra 21st chromosome, I take NuTriVene-D! I don't know a lot about NuTriVene, what it does for me and such...for that you'd have to ask my parents, but I do know two very important things about it.

  1. It makes me feel so good and gives me energy to get into more mischief
  2. and
  3. It tastes absolutely fabulous if I take the NuTriVene-D in pudding or yogurt. MMM goooood!
Another web site that Mommy says has a lot about NuTriVene on it, as well as info about and articles by the best doctor of all time, Dr. Lawrence Leichtman, is Trisomy21 Research Foundation Incorporated. While you're at it, visit Dr. Leichtman's home page, right here. There are several abstracts, (what are those anyway Mommy?) of studies done on NuTriVene-D, as well as other interesting information at DSTNI.net. All these studies say that NuTriVene-D is good for us folks who happen to have Down Syndrome. Well all they had to do was ask me or Momma or Sissy or Daddy--why waste so much time on studies! Ah well, Momma says that's how adults are. If that's the case I never want to grow up! I want to stay little so I can hug my mommy, daddy and sissy, kiss them and hug every little baby I see!

Please check out my special speech therapist, Miss Kathie! I just love it when she comes to see me, she brings books, puzzles, sometimes even doughnuts!!!!, these great blocks and best of all, bubbles! I just love bubbles! Miss Kathie says I get bubbles when I do good and I know this so I'm always on my best behavior when Miss Kathie's around--well okay, most of the time! Miss Kathie is doing private therapy with me once a month and she can't believe how well I am doing. She makes me work hard, but oh does she bring nice toys. She's really cool and everybody loves her! OH lately Miss Kathie has been bringing the treasure chest. Each time she has a different little toy or packet of candy in the treasure chest. Once she even forgot it and I had to remind her, so I got double next time she came. I love Miss Kathie! She is the greatest speech therapist ever! Speaking of school again, I have only recently learned to sound out three letter words, like hat, cat, pan, man and ham. I ride the bus to school every day and being gone all day is fun, I love eating breakfast and lunch with my classmates in the cafeteria, but it makes for a long day and sometimes I get really tired and fall asleep on the bus on the way home. .

ON June 5, 2003, I had surgery to repair two holes in my heart and to stitch my leaky mitral valve. My cardiologist whom I just love, says I am doing fine and I only have to see him once a year now. Check out the TNI web ring, whose links are found at the bottom of the page for more links to my cyber friends and information about TNI and such. At my last checkup I weighed 42 pounds and was 42.5 inches high. Well hey, that's high enough to reach stuff Mommy doesn't want me to reach and high enough to get into Daddy's shelves! Big enough, in other words, to get into a ton of mischief, which I do all the time! My mommy has a site on the net too and you can see it as well by visiting Mommy!

One of the things I love to do most in this world is eat. I lost my first baby tooth early this month. I like goldfish crackers and chicken and fish and about everything except ham and water melon. Eating is one of the finer things in life and I just love eating! And, oh, if you have any problems with this web site of mine, e-mail my web mistress/Mommy and blame it on her. <Smile> Speaking of e-mail, getting spam is annoying, so, Visit 0spam.com and see how it can rid your life of annoying e-mail spam. It's very screen reader friendly too!

Thanks for stopping by, okay gang? I will get my mother to update more I swear! I will be back to chatter and babble at you fine folks more once I get bored with making trouble!
